The history of Japan Alumni of Cambodia (JAC) could be traced back in 2000 when a group of Japanese universities graduates initiated the establishment with the main purpose of bringing all former graduates and friends together by nurturing a sense of solidarity, friendship and brotherhood.

This year marks the seventh-year anniversary of the Alumni. Over the last seven years, JAC has gradually grown into fully functioning organization; it has secured a legal status from the Ministry of Interior, become a member of Asian Council of Japan Alumni (ASCOJA) and had a close contact with each of the Japan Alumni from ASEAN countries. Below are details article. (also just for sampling).

Given the busy schedule of members, JAC has managed to hit the ground and run. JAC has cooperated closely with the Embassy of Japan to Cambodia particularly in its effort to promote cultural and educational exchange between Cambodia and Japan. On its own, JAC has carried out some of the activities deemed beneficial for both members’ solidarity and friends. It has been cooperating closely with our counterpart Association (of our Cambodian friends who are currently pursuing their education in Japan) to assist them in distributing donations to the most needed school children in Cambodia.

I believe there are plenty of potential activities that we could come up with to make our objectives realized. As the new Japanese graduates continue to increase, I am sure with the spirits of brotherhood and cooperation, JAC would go further in achieving its mission fostering friendships among graduates and between Cambodia and Japan.

I hope for members this website would further serve as another forum to bring us closer and for non-members it will help you have a better understanding of JAC. This website is still in its early stage; hopefully in the near future we will enhance it by providing useful information pertaining to both Alumni and happenings in Cambodia. As always, your suggestions for improvement are appreciated.
