TYCA Outline
Toshiba Youth Club Asia (TYCA) is a highly unique program that aims at fostering a network of next-generation Asian leaders, who have a long-term vision to contribute to the development of sustainable society. Selected high school students from South East Asian countries and from Japan will be invited to participate in an all-expense paid, one-week exchange program in Tokyo.
During this program, students will be immersed in a broad range of opportunities to learn and appreciate each other’s culture to sustain diversity of the Asian region; to think about the role of science and technology for social innovation; to discuss how they can effectively share wisdom and resources of each country to secure sound economic and social development of the region, overcoming energy and environmental issues, as well as securing resilience against natural disasters. They will finally work together to create and propose the long-term vision of Asia toward 2040, and how they can take the leadership to realize the vision.
Who can apply
Students who are aged between 15 and 18 years old and enrolled as high school students or as university students at the time of the Program (March 2019). Apart from that, interested applicants must be:
- Able to communicate and write essays in English
- Able to be in Tokyo from 20th – 27th March, 2019 Desirable:
- Students who are highly interested in Japan(Basic level of Japanese is preferable)
- Students who have interest in promoting exchanges with other Asian countries
- Student should hold a valid passport as of 31st October 2018 (expired after 30 September 2019).
